My artistic journey began in 2010 in Somerset West, South Africa, with the creation of TaylorJewel. What started as childhood sketches blossomed into a passion for crafting handcrafted, bespoke jewelry pieces. Building a brand focused on individuality and excellence, TaylorJewel grew a loyal following before relocating to the serene coastal surroundings of Fish Hoek, Cape Town, further fueling my creative spirit.

In a significant life change, I brought TaylorJewel across the globe to Davis County, Utah, operating under the Rustican Business Trust. Here, the brand continues to thrive, blending its South African artistic roots with American innovation to create timeless jewelry celebrating life's meaningful moments. This transition also amplified my passion for painting and photography, mediums through which I explore the world around me.

My inspirations are diverse. I draw heavily from the dramatic beauty of natural landscapes – from the wild expanse of Yellowstone and the rugged majesty of the Rocky Mountains here in the US, to the iconic vistas of Cape Town. Furthermore, my experiences traveling through 9 different countries have profoundly shaped my perspective, offering a rich tapestry of cultures, colors, and forms that find their way into my work. Whether painting or capturing photos, I aim to convey the energy, emotion, and unique details of a place or moment.

Unexpectedly, perhaps, I'm also an avid rock concert enthusiast! The raw energy, dynamic lighting, and passionate crowds at live shows often inspire abstract paintings and provide unique subjects for my photography. My eye for detail, honed over years of intricate jewelry design, carries over into how I compose a painting or frame a photograph.
